We are looking for an enthusiastic, ambitious associate (2-3 years post qualified with valid advocacy certificate) to join our Dispute Resolution team, based in our Kyiv office.

About the role

Joining the highly regarded and growing Dispute Resolution team of the leading international law firm with daily opportunities to experience Ukrainian and international arbitrations, court hearings and litigation across various industry sectors with a great deal of client contact responsibility and continuous personal development.

Working as part of the leading international law firm in Ukraine and the largest law firm in Europe and 5th largest globally with leading commercial, regulatory, dispute resolution and litigation practitioners based in the United Kingdom, Central and Eastern Europe.

Our dispute resolution team deals with high-profile international investment / commercial arbitrations works in both cross-border and local litigations, offers a full range of services relating to various local court proceedings (commercial, administrative and civil), regulatory matters in different sectors and compliance / white-collar crimes.

We are working with large corporations, international and domestic companies as well as private individuals.

Our dispute resolution team is ranked Tier 1 and recognised as best lawyers by international ranking agencies (Legal 500, Chambers Europe, Best Lawyers ).

Being part of CMS CEE / CIS regional dispute resolution practice to ensure that our clients receive the benefit of in-depth local knowledge as well as international best practice across CEE / CIS.

Dispute resolution team has advantages of direct access to the experience of outstanding litigation practice of CMS in the United Kingdom (with an outstanding office in London and six offices throughout the UK) and other jurisdictions.

This is a great opportunity to work as part of our Kyiv team, often working closely with our wider team in other offices, advising clients on all types of projects including commercial, retail, energy, pharmaceutical, financial and infrastructure.

About you

We are looking for an energetic, proactive and enthusiastic individual with a high level of expertise and strong business English level and excellent knowledge of Ukrainian.

Someone who can remain calm under pressure and can manage and prioritise competing demands accordingly.

We will consider candidates who :

  • have at least 2-3 years of full-time experience in Dispute Resolution, including participating in court hearings and arbitration processes;
  • are Ukraine qualified with a degree in law from a reputable university;
  • in possession of Ukrainian Advocate Certificate (completed and obtained);
  • have excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English, Ukrainian and Russian languages;
  • have a commercial approach, strong interpersonal, administration and time management skills;
  • have flexibility, ability to multi-task and work under pressure;
  • are able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • NOTE : we will not consider applicants without advocate certification.
