    The Role : Cloud Data Engineer

    We are looking for a Cloud Data Engineer , who will join the Analytics team and work closely with the Site Reliability team - someone who will strive to understand the why and focus on building solutions that are one step ahead of the ever-changing environment.

    The role is focused on collaboration, prototyping, and owning early adaptations of analytics-focused systems.

    The person will enable Engineering, Product, and Analytics teams to deliver better products and services through building services for effective data collecting, transforming, and provisioning.

    The work will require designing, building, operationalizing, securing, and monitoring data processing systems in a multi-cloud environment with a mind on security, scalability, and reliability.

    As part of the team, you will have an impact on how the data is governed, accessed, and distributed across services and data products for analytics.

    Key Responsibilities :

  • Support data and analytics professionals on data initiatives in the Cloud and ensure optimal data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects.
  • Design, develop and configure systems for the maintenance of the data and data-based products such as data lakes, data warehouses, ETL pipelines, and more.
  • Support technological decision-making for the business’s future data modeling, reporting, and machine learning needs.
  • Apply best practices on security (including IAM), quality, and consistency of the implementation in the cloud
  • Contribute to other, non-cloud-related tasks, within site reliability scopes like service orchestration, infrastructure provisioning, and tech-stack expansion.

    • Requirements :

  • Masters or Ph.D. degree in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) or equivalent experience
  • Expertize in data-related components supported by cloud providers ( GCP is preferred )
  • Strong optimization skills for data management
  • Coding skills for data engineering in the cloud
  • Strong problem-solving skills and proficiency in leading technical meetings
  • Ability to take ownership of technical decisions and plans for future growth of data related systems
  • Knowledge from the security area of cloud-based components and data transfer
  • Fluency in English

    • Tech stack (non-exhaustive) :

  • We are operating in a multi-cloud environment, i.e. AWS, GCP, Azure
  • Data is stored on S3, ES, PostgreSQL, BigQuery
  • Data communication happens through RabbitMQ, SQS, Rest API, Pub / Sub, Dataflows
  • The orchestration and monitoring include Ansible, Terraform, Composer, New Relic
