It’s a large-scale system with 16,000+ customers and over 6000 instances across geo-distributed Data Centers and Cloud providers.
Our customers can access and manage their data through different devices and interfaces like mobile, desktop apps, or WebUI.
The opportunity :
Currently, we have over 230 employees in Poland and are still increasing the size of our Engineering team driven by growing business demands and opportunities.
To support this goal, we’re looking for an Engineering Manager who will be instrumental in developing our engineering teams and helping them establish a long-term technical strategy in alignment with the product roadmap .
As an Engineering Manager, you will be reporting to the Sr Engineering Director. At the same time, you will enjoy full autonomy regarding the teams you manage.
Due to the diversity of technologies present at Egnyte, we are able to assign you a part of the system you are the best fit for.
We are looking for an experienced leader who will be working directly with the engineers, hand in hand with other members of the Engineering leadership team.
A person who makes sure engineers are working on the right things and have room to grow. A manager who will drive a technical debt roadmap aligned with the business one.
Your day-to-day at Egnyte :

Here’s what you’ll do as an Engineering Manager at Egnyte :
Daily meetings with the team working on-site and remotely.
Effective team building :
direct involvement in recruitment processes
Building long term team competency
Setting up career development plans for team members
providing business context regarding the items the team needs to deliver
Promoting good practices of SaaS product development and maintenance
Stimulating dialogue between Engineering and Product Team
to ensure the requirements are well defined
to ensure that both new features and tech debt items are properly prioritized based on the value they bring to the organization
Active member of Engineering Team who participates in engineering-wide processes improvement initiatives
Driving innovation by encouraging, driving your team to try new tools and technologies to improve technology stack and work environment.
About you :
2+ years of experience in a technical leadership role within an IT company.
Ideally some experience in a large-scale product company.
Good judgment when to step in and when to step back to give your team space to act
Very good understanding of how to navigate teams within a long-term technical strategy aligned with a product roadmap.
Strong leadership and facilitation skills, as well as the ability to balance engineering and product-related concerns.
Solid communication skills, including good written and spoken English.
Experience in leading teams responsible for building and maintaining multiple production services will be a plus.
Ability to manage a distributed team.
